‍
We'll ask you basic info questions and then three free-response questions.
You will receive an email of your responses as a submission confirmation after submitting your application.
After submitting your application give us seven (7) business days to review your application and send you an email of our decision on your application. Those who get accepted will move onto the next phase!
There's one more step before being accepted as a volunteer and receiving invitations to the community and workspaces. In the same email that you will receive with your acceptance, it will include the links to your training.
‍
We have a general training that all of our volunteers go through which includes info about our project and how everything will work.
Here you will also complete the training specific to the volunteer role(s) you're interested in.
This can take 2-3 hours to complete. We recommend putting the videos at 2x speed.
‍
We decided on potential volunteers doing their training before receiving invitations to our community and workspaces because we want to make sure that all of our volunteers can actually volunteer. :)
After letting us know that you've completed your training, we'll invite you to our Discord, our Notion Workspaces, and our GitHub repositories if you're an Open Source Contributor. Just a few emails.
We'll also send you an email with all the links and your next to make things simple đź‘Ť.
This is a 6-week experience and volunteers can request to volunteer in the next batch or long-term after having participated in at least three (3) batches.
On a single task, volunteers can spend 1–3 hours (technical writers), 1–6 hours (open -source contributors), or 9 hours (business research analysts).
You'll assign yourself one of the available tasks, and you'll have 2–3 weeks to complete it.
Within the 6-weeks, volunteers are expected to complete 5 tasks (technical writers), 2 tasks (open -source contributors), or 1 task (business research analysts).
This is a volunteer role, and we are a nonprofit without funding (yet). Though we do want to give back as that is what this entire project is about. We'll provide mentorship, experience, training, connections, a community, and academic opportunities that might help you in your journey. You can find a more exact list in the benefits section of this page.
Anyone anywhere can apply to any of our volunteer roles! It doesn't matter what country you're from or what grade you're in. All of our volunteers receive training. We only care about two things, our volunteers having time to volunteer and having the ability to express yourself and communicate. That's that the application is for.
